Black Friday — November 27 this year — is the single biggest grill-buying week of the year. We’re tracking every worthwhile grill, smoker, griddle, and pizza oven deal as it goes live, and we’ll keep updating this page through Cyber Monday. Below: what last year’s deals actually looked like, which grills to watch, and how to tell a real deal from a fake “was” price.
When grill deals actually go live
Don’t wait for the Friday itself. “Early Black Friday” sales start in the first half of November — last year we were already seeing Blackstone 36-inch griddles at $299 and Weber gas grills $100–190 off weeks before Thanksgiving. The deepest cuts land during Thanksgiving week itself, with stragglers and encore deals running through Cyber Monday. If you see the grill you want at a real discount in early November, take it — popular models sell out before the weekend.
What last year’s deals looked like
To calibrate expectations, here’s a sample of what we tracked during the 2025 Black Friday season. These are last year’s numbers, not predictions — but they show where the real money comes off:
Pellet grills
Pit Boss was the volume discounter: models ranging from $254 to $449 with $60–100 off across the lineup. The single steepest pellet cut we saw was the Traeger Ironwood 885 at $899 (down from $1,399.99) at Ace Hardware — $500 off a flagship is rare and worth jumping on when it happens.
Griddles
Blackstone owned this category. The 36-inch 4-burner repeatedly hit $299 (save $100) at multiple retailers, the 28-inch Omnivore with hood dropped to $300 (was $400), and Walmart had the 28-inch 2-burner as low as $178. If you’re deciding between sizes, read our Blackstone 28″ vs 36″ breakdown before the sales start.
Gas grills
Weber dealt more aggressively than usual: the Spirit E-210 2-burner hit $359 (save $190), the Genesis E-315 3-burner was $799 (save $100), and Ace had the Genesis SA-E-325 at $899 (was $999.99). Gas grills are the most price-stable category, so $100+ off a Genesis is genuinely notable.
Kamados and pizza ovens
Fewer headline doorbusters here. Big Green Egg and Kamado Joe rarely discount the cookers themselves — watch for package deals (nest, deflector, and shelves bundled) at dealers and BBQGuys instead. For pizza ovens, watch Ooni’s own site and Amazon; our Koda 16 vs Karu 16 comparison will tell you which one to pounce on if either gets cut.
Grills to watch this year
If any of these get a real cut, they’ll land on this page. In the meantime, our guides will tell you which one you’d actually want at full price:
- Best pellet grills 2026 — the category with the deepest Black Friday cuts
- Blackstone 28″ vs 36″ — decide your size before the $299 deals hit
- Best kamado grills 2026 — watch for package deals, not cooker discounts
- Best BBQ thermometers 2026 — accessories are classic stocking-stuffer deals
- Pellet vs gas: true cost breakdown — the sale price is only half the math; fuel costs are the other half
How to spot a fake Black Friday deal
Most “deals” are theater. Here’s how to tell:
- Check the price history, not the “was” price. “Was” prices are often inflated MSRPs nobody ever paid. On Amazon, run the listing through camelcamelcamel to see what it actually sold for over the last year.
- Compare against the street price. A grill “on sale” for $299 that sells for $299 all year at Walmart is not a deal. The discount that matters is off the everyday price, not the list price.
- Bundles aren’t discounts. “Free cover and spatulas!” is worth maybe $40 on a $500 grill. Nice to have, not a reason to buy.
- Watch for model-number games. Retailers sometimes carry Black Friday-specific variants with slightly different model numbers and cheaper components. If the model number doesn’t match the one in our guides, compare specs carefully.
Where the deals happen
- Walmart and Amazon — the Blackstone and Pit Boss volume deals; fastest sellouts
- Ace Hardware — surprisingly deep cuts on Weber and Traeger flagships last year
- Costco — bundle configurations (grill + hood + shelves) you won’t find elsewhere
- BBQGuys and brand-direct sites — kamados, pellet grills, and pizza ovens; sign up for their emails early, since the best brand-direct deals go to the list first
Bottom line
We’ll update this page as 2026 deals go live — bookmark it, or join the newsletter below and we’ll email you when the real cuts drop. And remember: the best deal is the right grill at a fair price, not the wrong grill at 30% off. Our grill quiz takes 60 seconds if you’re still deciding what “right” means for you.
